Discuss on how the message is constructed in media around specific issues,
- questions around migration feature in the crime pages of newspapers creating an unconscious association between migrants and crime.
- Do media victimise the victims by the way stories are being told?
- Is it the role of media to entertain or to challenge the audience?
- How can we tell these stories in a different way?

Ask the participants to rewrite or retold one of the stories following best practice guidelines. Also, observe the discussion around the topics: do the participants get it?
Do they use appropriate terminology?
Has the context and the representation of the individual changed?
Do participants find that retelling the story in a different way requires extra effort? If so, why?

This activity relies on a facilitated discussion around specific examples. Preparation for this activity will involved finding relevant videos or audios. The examples included here are focused on migration, but can be adapted to other groups by choosing other audios or videos.
